![]() I’m glad I settled on A Copyright Infringement Lawsuit Over 2 Words. Why hasn’t Rick Ross sued Maysa, Jeremy Fisher or Little Big? LMFAO – So This Is How (these) Florida Attorneys Sue There’s Stupid & Then There’s Rick Ross Stupid I toyed with these other titles for this post: “Everyday I’m shuffling” is not the same phrase as “everyday I’m hustling.” One had an opinion about Party Rock Anthem well before one heard “Everyday I’m shuffling” at 2.15 into the song.Ĥ. “Everyday I’m shuffling” is not very important to Party Rock Anthem.ģ. “Everyday I’m shuffling” occurs only twice in Party Rock Anthem.Ģ. ![]() To “go all factual on you” for a moment – LMFAO sing “everyday I’m shuffling” (not “everyday I’m hustling”) only twice in “Party Rock Anthem.” This three-word phrase occurs at the following two places in “Party Rock Anthem:”ģ.47 – 3.49 “everyday I’m shuffling'” (“shuffling” with a slight elongation/added syllable)ġ. When the words are joined to form a two-word phrase – “Everyday I’m” – they still do not form original expression. In my opinion, the word, “I’m,” is not original. ![]() Copyright Law was created, in part, to protect “original works of authorship.” In my opinion, the word, “everyday” is not original. If one person hustles and another person shuffles, are they engaged in the same kind of action? No, they are not. “Pushing or forcing one’s way” (“hustling”) seems to me to be the opposite of “moving in a dragging or clumsy manner” (shuffling”). Shuffling (the verb used by LMFAO in 2011) means “moving in a dragging or clumsy manner.” Hustling (the verb used by Rick Ross in 2006) means “push or force one’s way.” “Hustling” and “Shuffling” also have different meanings – here are links to the definitions from : Perhaps they are thinking, “Everyday I’m hustling” is the same as “Everyday I’m shuffling.” But, to my eyes, those final words of each phrase are different words with different meanings and different spellings: Perhaps Rick Ross’ attorneys think that LMFAO have copied three (3) and not two (2) words. Rick Ross sings, “Everyday I’m hustling.” I’mĭespite the contention from Rick Ross’ attorneys that the songs ALMOST have three (3) words in common, there are two (2), not three (3) words in common as I will demonstrate below: Both songs/recordings share two (2) identical words. There is one (1) similarity I notice between the two (2) songs, however. Party Rock Anthem’ has NOT copied, interpolated the beat of ‘Hustlin’…” Party Rock Anthem’ has NOT copied, interpolated the underlying music of ‘Hustlin’…” Party Rock Anthem’ has NOT copied, interpolated the lyrics of ‘Hustlin’…” Party Rock Anthem’ has NOT interpolated the beat of ‘Hustlin’…”Įven though I do not understand the lawyers’ use of English in the sentence above, with respect to the music contained in these two recordings (I don’t understand “copies, interpolates” as back-to-back action verbs), I have made an earnest attempt to understand what the lawyers might have meant and that has led me to arrive at these three (3) additional points: Party Rock Anthem’ has NOT interpolated the underlying music of ‘Hustlin’…” Party Rock Anthem’ has NOT interpolated the lyrics of ‘Hustlin’…” Party Rock Anthem’ has NOT copied the beat of ‘Hustlin’…” Party Rock Anthem’ has NOT copied the underlying music of ‘Hustlin’…” Party Rock Anthem has NOT copied the lyrics of ‘Hustlin’…” I strongly disagree with the allegations in Rick Ross’ complaint, specifically that sentence, and have drawn a few conclusions to the contrary: I have analyzed Rick Ross’ Hustlin’ (2006) and LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem (2011). “ ‘Party Rock Anthem’ copies, interpolates the lyrics, underlying music and beat of ‘Hustlin’…” ![]() The first sentence in the COMPLAINTthat mentions “music” or “lyrics” states the following: I then read the COMPLAINTfiled by Rick Ross’ attorneys. My first impression was that I might have the wrong music as there seemed to be not only NO copyright infringement but NO SIMILARITY. I read the HR article, got the music and listened. That was nice of them as I was unaware of this lawsuit but am interested in intellectual property (IP), creativity, originality, how we evaluate expression via law, how law is used to get relief, and other subjects that interpose music and law. Several friends contacted me via Facebook and email to ask my opinion on this Hollywood Reporter article about Rick Ross’ copyright infringement lawsuit against LMFAO. You can upgrade both your Leviathan Axe and other armor by befriending various blacksmiths on your adventure, as well as upgrade Kratos' skills with gold and treasure you find along the way. Combat generally feels more complex than before, offering a variety of distinct moves and abilities over hack 'n slash attacks. You'll use the axe in both combat and exploration, cleaving through enemies' skulls and solving environmental puzzles respectively. Instead of wielding Kratos' iconic blades, you'll utilize his new Leviathan Axe, which can be thrown and then magically pulled back to his hand. GameplayĪlthough God of War 4 maintains the third-person action genre of its predecessors, there's a lot about the game that is notably different. ![]() Fearing for his son's safety and eager to deliver Faye's ashes to the mountain, the pair set off into the wilds of Midgard where uncertainty awaits. Shortly after their journey begins, Kratos is attacked by a mysterious enemy, sent by the powerful god Odin. After the death of his wife Faye, Kratos and his son Atreus set out to carry her ashes to the top of a nearby mountain. ![]() However, instead of being set in the world of Greek mythology, God of War 4 inexplicable takes place in the lands of Norse lore. Taking place an unknown amount of time after God of War III, this tale once again sees Kratos, a divine but now aged warrior, embarking on a perilous journey packed with violence. Main FeaturesĪ large portion of God of War 4's story is a mystery, slowly revealing itself to the player as they progress. Not only is the gameplay fun and exciting, but the story is riveting and heartfelt, resulting in one of the strongest PlayStation games ever made. You will still be wowed by the spectacular fight, but you won’t be able to compare it to past fights and call it better. These boss fights are still great, but they’re not better than God of War 3’s Cronus fight as an example. ![]() The only area where it matches rather than exceeds past God of War games is in the boss fights. God of War 4 has made a huge effort in improving the environment, and a respectable effort on story. It’s not complete freedom, but it’s also not a single, linear path with no other way to move forward. It’s a lot like Tomb Raider 3 in the mechanics of how the world opens up. In one show stopping example, every time you make significant quest progress in the game, the level of the lake surrounding the area changes. It’s not just beautifully rendered graphics, but how those graphics are presented. The graphics and designs are show stopping. This really works in terms of the raw beauty of the game. The hub-style allows the developers to create something amazing-they can show you other realms, and give rich detail in one area, all while hiding something from you around the corner. While it isn’t quite open world, it does branch out with options that grow wider with each choice you make. Most God of War games are linear in nature, but this game is different. Satisfying vibration when the weapon is recalled. If you’re playing with a controller, the controller makes a This Axe is a solid swinging Axe that makes a thud when it lands in a victim, and another when it is recalled to your hand. In God of War 4, this has been changed to the Leviathan Axe. These are swords permanently chained to his arms, and while he might use other weapons during the game, these are the ones you remember. In the original God of War and follow up games, the main weapon has been the Swords of Chaos. It’s not an overwhelming story, but it is good enough to keep you there while you are playing. In this newest installment of the series, Kratos and Atreus are going together to spread the ashes of Faye, husband and mother of the duo.Īs you can imagine, the son of Zeus isn’t the greatest at being a parent, and the story is full family tensions as well as action and adventure during the game. God of War 4 brings us back to popular character Kratos, and focuses on his relationship with his son, Atreus. ![]() |
